The 4th Annual I WISH FOR A NEW WAITER GALA to benefit the Children’s Wish Foundation is a highly anticipated social and fundraising event which will bring together over 300 members of the Edmonton community. Local personalities will be waiters for the evening—assisting with service and entertaining guests, encouraging patrons to donate towards a local child’s most heartfelt wish in the form of tips for their service. It is expected to be another spectacular evening that will feature auctions, entertainment, a lively atmosphere and a special appearance by our own little superhero, SpiderMable. It will be a memorable evening, with a Superhero theme, and we could all be superheroes by raising enough funds to grant wishes to local children with life threatening illnesses.
Wands don’t grant wishes; Big hearts do!
Corporations and individual donors who support the Children’s Wish Foundation’s I Wish for a New Waiter Gala provide vital funding to ensure wish granting efforts reach eligible children in Edmonton and across Northern Alberta.
Your support has direct impact! While we promise you a great party, that experience does not come at the expense of the children and families we serve. You can be confident that all net proceeds raised by the I Wish for a New Waiter Gala are channeled towards the Children’s Wish Foundation’s mission to grant a wish to every eligible child.

FACTS AND FIGURES
The Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada works with the community to provide children with high risk life threatening illnesses the opportunity to realize their most heartfelt wish.
Every child enjoys the best quality of life possible including the experience of laughter, shared joy and memories with important people in their lives.
Any child residing in Canada between the ages of three and 17 who has been diagnosed with a high-risk, life threatening illness qualifies for a wish. This illness must be verified by the child’s treating physician.
More than 23,000 wishes are granted nationally (approximately 1,100 annually) More than 2,000 in AB & NWT
In 2015, 39 wishes were granted in Edmonton’s jurisdiction of Red Deer and all points north.
Wishes vary in expense by virtue of their variety and complexity. Wishes can range in cost from a few hundred dollars to well over ten thousand dollars, with the average cost of a wish falling around $10,000.
Administration costs are necessary to run a national organization; however, The Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada is committed to keeping these costs to a minimum. Hard working volunteers across the country make it possible for the Foundation to keep administrative costs as low as 12% of revenue nationally and 5% locally.
