The 5th Annual I WISH FOR A NEW WAITER GALA to benefit the Children’s Wish Foundation is a highly anticipated social and fundraising event which will bring together over 300 members of the Edmonton community. Local personalities will be waiters for the evening—assisting with service and entertaining guests, encouraging patrons to donate towards a local child’s most heartfelt wish in the form of tips for their service. It is expected to be another spectacular evening that will feature auctions, entertainment, a lively atmosphere and the giving of a precious gift of a wish to children with life-threatening illnesses and their families.

Corporations and individual donors who support the Children’s Wish Foundation’s I Wish for a New Waiter Gala provide vital funding to ensure wish granting efforts reach eligible children in Edmonton and across Northern Alberta.

Your support has direct impact! While we promise you a great party, it does not come at the expense of the children and families we serve. You can be confident that all net proceeds raised by the I Wish for a New Waiter Gala are channeled towards the Children’s Wish Foundation’s mission to grant a wish to every eligible child.

About Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada

Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada is the largest and only all-Canadian wish granting charity dedicated to granting wishes to Canadian children between the ages of 3 and 17 who are diagnosed with a life-threatening illness. For more than 30 years, Children’s Wish has worked tirelessly to grant heartfelt wishes to nearly 25,000 children and their families – that’s three wishes each and every day, all year long! The AB/NWT chapter of the Children’s Wish Foundation has granted more than 2,000 Wishes and estimates 130 Wishes will be granted this year.

Children’s Wish has chapter offices and professional staff in every province, and each wish family is assigned a dedicated Wish Coordinator who is able to personally and carefully structure each heartfelt wish experience to meet the particular needs of the child and their family. Travel wishes include all siblings 21 years and under living in the same household, and families travel worry-free thanks to exclusive Blue Cross insurance.

Our newly expanded reach, which includes children diagnosed with a serious neurological or genetic illness, means continued strong wish referral support through our medical community. Wish referrals continue to increase year over year, and we are proud to maintain our ‘no waiting list’ policy, thanks to our generous donors.
